The membership has since grown to represent an amalgamation of diverse research, operational and extension personnel from all over the world. There are currently four international SOVE branches: European SOVE which was established in 1986, Asian SOVE since 2011, Indian SOVE since 2017, and Brazilian SOVE since 2012. The latter expanded to Latin American SOVE (LA SOVE) in 2019 and its inaugural meeting was held in Manaus (Brazil) in November 2019.<\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\"><span lang=\"en-GB\">LA SOVE<\/span><span lang=\"es-AR\">\u00b4s<\/span><span lang=\"en-GB\"> mission is to promote a close liaison between academia, healthcare professionals and policy makers, to achieve the reduction and\/or elimination of neglected zoonotic and vector-borne diseases in Latin America and sustainable management of vector control. Our main objective is to share knowledge and create an extensive network among scientists and healthcare professionals which will help reduce and\/or eliminate zoonotic and vector-borne diseases and improve research in vector control, with a special emphasis on the ecology and control of arthropods of medical and veterinary importance. <\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Society for Vector Ecology (SOVE) is a professional organization formed in 1968 by a group of individuals involved in vector biology and control programs in California (USA).
